Mixed Greens Salad with Red Onions, Artichokes and Hearts of Palm

salad1IMG0022

This is one of my favorite salads. I love the blend of the lettuces, the crunch of the carrots and the addition of the artichokes and hearts of palm. It is a great green salad to pair with pizza or a hearty red-sauced pasta. Enjoy! -alyce photo: fulton davenport

Why settle (again) for plain mashed potatoes? Booorrriiiinnnggg. End the snooze-fest with celery root. The addition of the root vegetable certainly wakes up this classic comfort food and lends interest! Serve it with roast chicken or game hens, seared duck, or braised beef. You will be pleasantly surprised with the unique flavor and fluffy texture. Promise. [...]

Broccoli, Leek and Smoked Gouda Tart

broccoli, leek and smoked gouda tart

I think I have written here before that I have a special fondness for baking, especially recipes that feature a savory tart crust with an eggy and/or cheesy filling. Yes, this recipe is a little more involved, but making a tart crust is similar to making a pie crust. If you’ve never tried it, you [...]

Wild Rice & Riso with Roasted Garlic

What’s better than roasted garlic? I can’t think of anything at the moment. So try this lovely tailgate or picnic salad featuring mild, roasted garlic for your next outing. I invite you to click for the other recipes: Herb Marinated Beef Tenderloin and Green Beans with Almonds & Blue Cheese, that complement quite nicely. Enjoy [...]
