Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies (the Neiman Marcus cookie)

Ingredients
  • 2 cups butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 4 cups oatmeal (blended)
  • 4 cups flour
  • 2 tsp. soda
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 24 oz. chocolate chips
  • 1 (8 oz.) Hershey bar (grated)
  • 2 cups chopped pecans
Instructions
  1. In the bowl of an electric mixer, using the paddle attachment, cream the butter and both sugars. Add eggs and vanilla and combine.
  2. Measure oatmeal and blend in a blender to a fine powder.
  3. In a large bowl, combine oatmeal with flour, soda, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Combine dry ingredients with the butter/sugar/egg mixture in the mixer.
  5. Add chocolate chips, grated Hershey bar, nuts and mix.
  6. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees, then refrigerate the dough for about 30 minutes. Roll into walnut-sized balls and place two inches apart on a cookie sheet.
  7. Bake for 10 minutes at 375 degrees. Makes approximately 112 cookies.
