Steamed Rice

Steamed Rice

Ingredients
  • 2½ cups medium-grain white rice
  • 2¾ cups cold water

Instructions
  1. Place the rice in a large bowl and cover with water. Let it stand for a few minutes. Stir, drain and repeat until the water is clear when stirred, 5 to 6 minutes.
  2. Using a 4-quart pot, bring the water to a rapid boil. Reduce the heat to lowest possible simmer, cover and allow it to cook undisturbed for 15 minutes.
  3. Do not uncover the pot.
  4. Remove the pot from the stove and let it sit, with the lid on for 20 minutes.
